A consummate product development specialist with a passion for fashion, Carla Christoff co-founded Mango Tango after spending more than 20 years working in all aspects of the manufacturing and buying of apparel and home furnishings. She has held posts in product development, merchandising, manufacturing and buying at both private and publicly held companies, and in both branded and private label venues. She has been responsible for global factory negotiations as well as QC qualifications, and she has directed both design and market analysis efforts in multiple product categories at every price point.
Highlights of Christoff's career include director of sourcing at Town & Country Living; product development manager at WC Designs, where she oversaw the Calvin Klein table linen division; director of merchandising and sourcing at Surefit Slipcovers; brand director for Charter Club, a Federated private label brand; and product development director at Charter Ventures, where she was responsible for all sportswear programs for AMC's Target and Mervyn's brands. In addition, she has served in various sourcing capacities for private companies.
A natural marketer, Christoff is versatile in her ability to be effective on both the manufacturing and the retailing side of the business. She has frequently participated in major industry trade shows including Magic in Las Vegas, Atlanta's Gift and Apparel shows, Germany's Heimtex Fair, and the Maison & Objet Show in Paris. Her career has required travel on a global scale, and she has amassed in-country experience in Bangladesh, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, and Turkey, to name a few.
She graduated from New York's Fashion Institute of Technology after beginning her college degree in Music Therapy at Ohio University, Athens, Ohio.
